Job Summary:

The department of Communication & Media is seeking an energetic and self-motivated studio Student Assistant to support our media production courses which may include evening hours (advanced notice will be provided). Under general supervision, the student assistant will also assist video production students with their production projects.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Organize and track records of all documentation submitted and process by the Office
- Preparing video control room and studio for class usage.
- Checking video production equipment in/out to qualified students.
- Providing assistance to students with their projects.
- Evening work periods may be required. Advance notice will be provided.
- Assist instructor/staff with equipment training and tutorials.
- Opening/Closing Media Lab, Studio and Editing Bays
- Student Assistant will perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their Supervisor and/or Department Chair

Minimum Qualifications: Required Education and Experience

- Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
-Maintain a minimum 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative
-Students must have at least halftime unit enrollment status at CSUSB (6 units Undergraduate; 3 units Graduate)
-International students must have fulltime unit enrollment status at CSUSB (12 units -Undergraduate; 6 units Graduate)

Required Qualifications

-Must be an active CSUSB student.
-Maintain a cumulative and semester G.P.A. of 2.0 G.P.A. or greater
- Must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate)
- International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB. (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate)

Preferred Qualifications 

Applicant is preferred to have 6 months experience editing video and working with Adobe Premier editing software. Familiarity with After Effects, and Photoshop is also required. Student should have good writing, interview, and research skills, along with a basic understanding of news-style television production. The ideal candidate will be a great team member, can take on a project or task and work independently, and should be able to work in a deadline-driven environment.

Preferred applicant will be available to work some evening hours.

Compensation and Benefits:

Student Employment Anticipated Hiring Range: $16.00 per hour.

The compensation offered will consider internal equity and experience among other factors.

Position Information:

Work status: Part-Time, Temporary, Seasonal

Academic year available hours: Monday through Friday (8:00 am – 5:00 pm).

Summer available hours: Monday through Thursday (7:00 am - 5:30 pm).

This is an 'On-Campus Only' position. Student Employees are not eligible to telecommute at any time.
